Critics are raving that this breathtaking production is “bigger and better than ever before” and features a brilliant new scenic design by Paul Brown, Tony Award®-winning original costume design by Maria Björnson, lighting design by Tony Award®-winner Paule Constable, new choreography by Scott Ambler, and new staging by director Laurence Connor. The production, overseen by Matthew Bourne and Cameron Mackintosh, boasts many exciting special effects including the show’s legendary chandelier. The beloved story and thrilling score – with songs like “Music of the Night,” “All I Ask Of You,” and “Masquerade” – will be performed by a cast and orchestra of 52, making this PHANTOM one of the largest productions now on tour.

There are three dominant colors associated with this epic musical theater production. Black representing the mysterious appearance of the Phantom in the theater at night, red representing the rose which is symbolic of the Phantom’s love and heartbreak for Christine, and white representing the mask that the Phantom hides behind to cover his identity and disfigurement.
Here are some affordable and versatile fit and flare dress options to wear to the theatre inspired by the colors.
The first one is an affordable LBD from Francesca’s currently selling on sale for $34.98
Dress: Francesca’s Sienna High Neck Skater Dress in Black (Sizing starts in xxs)
I love this comfortable fit and flare dress that can take you from day to night depending how you accessorize it. Its easy and comfortable fit can be for casual occasions when you pair it with some low flats, flip flops and or tennis shoes with a sunhat. You can the change it up and for a night out by wearing strappy high heeled shoes, clutch purse and chandelier earrings. The thin straps on top by the shoulder area add additional style details.
Flip Flops: Olivia Miller Jewel Wedge Flip Flop. The sizing starts in size 6 which I found to fit my size 5 feet without being uncomfortable. Super comfy for $19.99
Hat: Banana Republic Adjustable Straw Fedora in the natural color. 40% off taken at checkout.
The next fit and flare dress by AQUA from Bloomingdale’s is one of my favorites because the material is soft and comfortable. During the summer with the hot weather I don’t want to wear anything crispy and constricting. This classic silhouette is easy to wear and is timeless. The playful white roses scattered across the dress adds interest and you will be ready for a fun adventure.
A third fit and flare dress features cut in shoulders and lace on the top with a fitted bodice. This is the perfect dress to wear in the evening for a theater performance.
Dress: Francesca’s Stella Open Back Lace Dress in Black (Sizing starts in size xxs). Also available in White.
Clutch: Francesca’s Teagan Mini Angled Perforated Crossbody – Black Color, Vegan. Where it as a clutch, wristlet or crossbody with the attached gold strap chain.
Earrings: Francesca’s Hadley Glass Beaded Circle Drop Earrings with gold interlocking hoops and white beads
Lastly, this fit and flare red dress by B Darlin has a seamless fit and is ideal for petites. I was able to purchase this dress at JC Penney’s on sale. The cut and back styling is reminiscent of a Parker NY brand dress which retails at designer prices compared to this affordable price. JC Penney’s often stacks their sale prices. In addition to the sale price there was a coupon savings online bringing it to $38.39 from $69! Special details include pleating, lining, and a stylish back design which makes this the perfect dress to wear to the theater to see a Broadway musical or a nice dinner.
Dress: JC Penney’s B. Darlin Sleeveless Party Dress-Juniors in Bright Red. Sizing Starts at 0. Use code 27GOSHOP at checkout for the extra discount ending 7/17 online.
