Enjoy the movie Last Christmas, a romantic comedy inspired by a George Michael song coming to theaters Nov 8th. The film stars Emilia Clarke, Henry Golding , Michelle Yeoh & Emma Thompson ( who also wrote screenplay) directed by Paul Feig.
“A young woman named Kate, who has been continuously unlucky, accepts a job as a department store elf during the Christmas holidays. When Kate meets Tom on the job, her life takes an unexpected turn.”
Roger’s Gardens Holiday Boutique is a feast for the eyes that will enhance your Christmas spirit. I went to the opening of this year’s themed enchanted Christmas with the movie Last Christmas in mind. The character Kate works as an elf at a Christmas boutique shop. This boutique is special for its variety and expanse. There are themed Christmas trees by color or topic such as the ocean tree or sweets tree. Be greeted by a moving reindeer and shop for a friend or yourself.
The boutique is near Regal Edwards Big Newport Movie Theater and The Lot movie theater in Fashion Island. Perhaps if you are in the area you can see the film Last Christmas and go see the boutique. These theaters have reclining reserved seating.
“Celebrate the most magical time of the year at Roger’s Gardens. Escape to an enchanted forest filled with sparkling toadstools, as the scent of pine lingers in the air. Enjoy the thrill of discovery at every turn. Twinkling lights mingle with seasonal greens and delicate hand-blown glass baubles shimmer in a joyful palette of colors. Let your senses guide you as you find an assortment of ornaments, unique holiday gifts, and festive decor. Be inspired to add a bit of magic to your home. Experience the enchanted season of Christmas at Roger’s Gardens.”

The faux fur leopard coat or jacket is a style that is also featured in fashion moments throughout history. One standout style moment is from the 1940’s Christmas film It Happened on 5th Avenue with Ann Harding as Mary O’Connor wearing a leopard coat. Her look reminds me of Emilia Clarke in Last Christmas. Don DeFore as Jim Bullock wears a trench that reminds me of Henry Golding in Last Christmas. The trend is featured in films like The Graduate (1967), The Lost Weekend (1945), Funny Girl, (1968) and Cry of the City (1948). Other notable stars wearing the leopard coat look is Elizabeth Taylor and Jackie Kennedy in the 1960s. In the 90s you see Stacey Dash as Dionne in Clueless wearing a leopard print jacket. I am so glad that there are now many faux fur options to make this style relevant today.
Bomber Jacket: Kohl’s Women’s Nine West Faux-Fur Leopard Bomber Jacket. Wear this chic animal print with a fierce and cozy look. This look is inspired by the Last Christmas fashion and wardrobe styling of Kate’s Leopard Coat. This jacket is super soft that I love running my fingers over. The sleeve cuff rib design is one of the reasons why I picked out this jacket! I went through so many choices online and noticed some jackets looked way to overwhelming or the sleeve length was too long. This Nine West Jacket fits my arm length with no alterations required. There is a pocket on each side with a zipper ring puller for convenience.

I have found some awesome options for you to stand out wearing the faux fur leopard look! With these options you don’t have to worry about sleeves being too long or the look too bulky! I like the option to have a faux fur jacket hug at the wrist! Many of thes 8 options below come in small or junior sizing that will look good on a petite frame without breaking the bank.
Get Kate’s (Emilia Clarke) leopard coat look from the film Last Christmas! Below are eight longer leopard jackets and coats starting at $40. I chose to feature options for petite and junior sizing so the look doesn’t overwhelm a petite frame.
The faux fur leopard trend can extend to options for evening wear over a nice holiday dress. Here are four options that will add warmth and style to a night out.

Book: Last Christmas: Memories of Christmases Past and Hopes of Future Ones
Release Date: November 5, 2019
Description: “When you think back to Christmases past, what made it magical? Looking towards the future, what would your perfect Christmas be? What would you change? What should we all change?
The perfect holiday book, featuring the remembrances of Meryl Streep, Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman, Caitlin Moran, and more, to coincide with the upcoming movie LAST CHRISTMAS, starring Emma Thompson, Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding.
This is a beautiful, funny and soulful collection of personal essays about the meaning of Christmas, written by an exceptional body of voices from the boulevards of Hollywood to the soup kitchens of Covent Garden.
Stepping away from the holiday shopping, the midtown Manhattan window decorations, and the gingerbread cookies and hot cocoa, this gem of a book is introduced and curated by Emma Thompson and Greg Wise and celebrates the importance of kindness and generosity, acceptance and tolerance – and shows us that these values are not just for Christmas, but for every day of the year.”
Once Upon a December…or in this case November! Anastasia Broadway musical tour is at Segerstrom Center for the Arts from 11/5 to 11/17. “This dazzling show transports us from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the euphoria of Paris in the 1920s, as a brave young woman sets out to discover the mystery of her past.”
