Best Online Events for Theatre, Broadway and More

I love celebrating Christmas and seeing a Christmas show! However, since theatre and live entertainment are closed this year, I am looking forward to enjoying some online streaming shows. Here are some of my favorite classics that will warm your soul.

A Christmas Carol Live with Jefferson Mays Poster

About: The timeless tale of Ebenezer Scrooge comes to thrilling new life as Tony Award winner Jefferson Mays (I Am My Own Wife, Gentleman’s Guide…) plays over 50 roles in a virtuosic master class of a performance that must be seen to be believed. This theatrical achievement comes from the haunting vision of one of Broadway’s most imaginative directors, Michael Arden (Tony-winning Best Revival – Once on This Island).

Staged exclusively for this production and captured live with breathtaking clarity, this must-watch streaming event conjures the powerful spirits of Christmas and brings all the magic of live theatre home for the holidays.

‘Tis the season for giving – when you stream this production, you’re also helping to sustain your local theatre community through these extraordinary times.

When:  until January 3, 2021
A Christmas Carol is available for unlimited viewings within a 24-hour period
Where: Streaming Online, 91 minutes
Tickets: Purchase Online.

It has been a holiday tradition to go see South Coast Repertory’s production of A Christmas Carol every year. However, due to the pandemic, there was no production this year. Instead, support SCR by buying a ticket to watch the live captured version starring Jefferson Mays.

You can also enjoy listening to Richard Doyle’s audio performance in an abridged version part of SCR commUNITY new digital platform. It’s free!
I look forward to when we can also safely go back to the theatre and enjoy this holiday treat once again in person.
